The business end of every arrow ultimately makes the quick, clean shots that all bowhunters strive for, and the broadhead chosen for the job could be a fixed style, expandable or a combination of the two. - SEVR Titanium 2.1
Launched in 2018, SEVR’s a name we’re hearing more and more. Its latest offering, the Titanium 2.1, is a rear-deploying head that flies like a field point and cuts like crazy. On impact, patented Lock-and-Pivot blades lock open and then pivot around bone to maximize penetration and better ensure a true 2.1-inch cut. Best of all, perhaps, is the fact that you can practice with the same heads you plan to fill your quiver with. Simply add an additional screw into the ferrule and the blades won’t deploy. Wasp Archery and Havalon Knives partnered to create a fly-like-a-field-point fixed-blade that penetrates deep and cuts like crazy. Dubbed the Havalon HV, this surgical-sharp head features .035-inch-thick blades and boasts a 1-3/16-inch cutting diameter. The streamlined aerospace-grade aluminum ferrule is aerodynamic, ultra-compact and designed for quick, easy blade replacement. MSRP: $44.99 for three.
- G5 Striker V2
Forever rooted in broadhead lore, the Striker from G5 is a go-to for many fixed-blade fanatics. The good news: This legendary head just got better. The new-for-2019 Striker V2 features a stronger blade hold than its predecessor, which boosts head reliability, while keeping blade replacement ultra-simple. Available in 100- and 125-grain standard-thread models, as well as a 100-grain Deep Six model, the V2 boasts a cutting diameter of 1¼ inches. To simplify the sight-in process, a three-pack of heads comes with G5’s Ballistic Match Point (BMP). MSRP: $42.99 for three.
- Muzzy One
Milled from a single block of stainless steel, Muzzy’s One is a razor-sharp three-blade designed with a hybrid chisel/cut-on-contact tip. Sure to wreak havoc on game, this 100-grain head sports .046-inch-thick blades and creates a cutting diameter of 1-1/8 inches. Engineered for accuracy, durability and sharpness, the One can be easily touched up on a flat stone. MSRP: $44.99 for three.
- SIK SK2
Four years in the making and guaranteed to deliver field-point accuracy, the SK2 is a technology-rich expandable designed to open on impact and produce a 3.625-inch cutting diameter. Using patented FliteLoc Technology, the SK2’s Offset Blade Design also produces a 2-inch offset entrance wound channel. MSRP: $49.99 for three.
- Dead Ringer Hatchet
For 2019, Dead Ringer adds the 100-grain Hatchet to its already impressive mechanical lineup. Crafted from carbon steel and featuring a pair of razor-sharp blades that promise a 2-inch cut, this rear-deploying head is said to fly like a field point and always open on impact. The streamlined head features a chisel-tip design. MSRP: $34.99 for three.
- Innerloc Carnage
Innerloc’s shiny new penny, the 100-grain Carnage, expands on the manufacturer’s Aero Series and is fitted with three .04-inch-thick rear-deploying blades. Guaranteed field-point accurate due to Innerloc’s unique wrapping system — a system that places an aerodynamic warp around the head — the Carnage flies like a bullet. Upon impact the wrap’s angled front presses back into the broadhead, causing deployment. The Carnage delivers a 1.5-inch cutting diameter. MSRP: Not available.
- Ramcat Cage Ripper
Based on a piston-driven deployment system, Ramcat’s Cage Ripper requires 2 pounds of pressure before it will deploy. That means that the head stays closed in flight and hammers open upon impact. Patented Concave-Scoop Technology boosts downrange accuracy and penetration, and the blades, featuring oil-resistant rings, make flight whisper quiet. - NAP Dark Knight Titanium 125
A head designed to fly like a mechanical but hit like a fixed-blade — that’s the NAP Dark Knight Titanium 125 in a nutshell. A one-piece titanium ferrule with deep-penetrating tip promises durability, and two-stage deployment means a solid 2-inch cut from the main stainless steel blades, followed by two bleeder blades that tack on an additional 1-1/8-inch cut. - DirtNap Gear ALPHA
Designed to be simple and produce results, DirtNap’s ALPHA fixed-blade boasts an all-steel design and patented Modular Weight System, which means the head can be shot at 100 or 125 grains. - .30-06 Outdoors BloodBath
This cut-on-contact spearhead-shaped tip screams fixed-blade, but the pair of serrated 420 stainless steel blades that deploy on impact say mechanical. Regardless of which family it falls in, this hybrid-style head was designed to punch through bone and devastate internal organs. The ferrule is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum. In flight, the BloodBath’s mechanical blades are less than 5/8 inch wide, which boosts overall accuracy. The BloodBath will serve vertical and crossbow hunters alike. MSRP: $19.95 for three.
- Flying Arrow ORION 3
Flying Arrow likes to push the broadhead envelope, and its latest fixed blade, the ORION 3, certainly keeps to the trend. The one-piece stainless steel ferrule and tip were designed to withstand abuse and punishment, and Flying Arrow notes that factory broadhead assemblers had to wear specially designed white gloves due to the surgical-sharp blades. The head features Quick Change and Solid Lock blades that are offset at 1.5 degrees to better work with an arrow’s rotation. MSRP: $39.99 for three.
- Swhacker Levi Morgan Signature Series #261
Champion archer Levi Morgan has painted more red-carpet blood trails with Swhacker heads than you can shake a stick at. For 2019, Morgan and Swhacker put their heads together to create a 100-grain two-blade broadhead with a 2-inch cut that is sure to be accurate, durable and a stone-cold killer. The swept-back blades boast a .032-inch thickness rating and open inside the animal for increased pass-throughs on big game. MSRP: Not available
- Rage Hypodermic NC
A Hypodermic on steroids, Rage’s new Hypodermic NC (No Collar) boasts an impressive 2-inch cutting diameter and needle-point stainless steel ferrule. Finger-like tabs on the Slip Cam pin the.035-inch-thick stainless-steel blades in place, and there’s no Shock Collar or O-ring needed on these bad boys. Designed to fly like a field point and cause massive hemorrhaging, the head features a swept-back angle and promises deep penetration. MSRP: $49.99 for three.
- QAD Exodus 125-Grain Crossbow
A new Exodus offering sure to please the horizontal crowd is QAD’s Exodus 125. Engineered to hammer through bone, muscle, tissue and virtually anything that gets in its path, this 100 percent made-in-the-USA head sports .04-inch-thick stainless steel blades that carve a 1¼-inch wound channel. Exodus blades are available in full or swept-back styles and attach to a .7-inch ferrule. MSRP: $39.99 for three.
- Rocky Mountain Switch Blade
The hybrid-style Switch Blade features an aircraft-grade aluminum ferrule, four-blade construction and a failproof O-ring blade-retention system. The fixed-blade portion of the head packs a 7/8-inch cut, followed by a pair of over-the-top deployment wing blades that tack on an extra 2 inches of lethality. Total cutting diameter for this head is a whopping 2-7/8 inches, and Rocky Mountain says it is field-point accurate. MSRP: $24.99 for three.
- SIK F4
A newcomer to the broadhead world, SIK — part of the Escalade Sports family of brands — is set to make a few waves with its F4 fixed-blade offering. The F4 was designed with a 27-degree razor-honed blade angle to create a full 1.35-inch cutting diameter and a 3.35-inch cutting surface. Designed with accuracy in mind, the F4 is fitted with four blades and boasts laser-welded stainless steel construction. MSRP: $39.99 for three.
- Rocket Meat Seeker
Revamped and ready to fill quivers is Rocket’s Meat Seeker. Available in both compound and crossbow models, the three-blade Meat Seeker sports proven piston-action deployment and features razor-sharp .035-inch-thick blades that produce a 2-inch cutting diameter and 3-inch cutting surface. - SWAT Vector
Lighter and stronger than titanium, the ferrule on SWAT’s new Vector is constructed of 7075-T6 aluminum and showcases a deadly X-OUT razor tip. Upon hitting hide or feathers, four stainless-steel blades jump to the ready and carve a cutting diameter between 1 and 1¾ inches thanks to the Vector’s micro-adjustable blades. - Iron Will Outfitters s100
Iron Will’s latest lung-puncher, the s100, features the same A2 Toll steel blades with cut-on-contact Tanto tip as the manufacturer’s four-blade vented v Series, launched in 2018.
