Top 5 Deer Blog Posts of 2018

We’ve had another great year here at DDH, and I’ve again enjoyed talking all things deer and deer hunting with everyone. You are my online family, and words alone cannot express my gratitude for all of the support and friendship you’ve shown me over the years. I also appreciate the criticism — constructive or otherwise — because I’m a firm believer in always taking away a positive from any interaction with anyone … over any topic. It’s what makes us stronger and better people (and hunters!).

I just finished poring over the Google Analytics for this blog, and I’m quite humbled. In 2018, these blog posts have generated more than 500,000 page views, and a combined total (gasp!) of 21,000 hours (nearly 3 minutes per blog post). That blows my mind! You all deserve the credit for this success, because it has been your feedback that has provided me with the fodder of most of these blog entries.

So, let’s take this moment to take a quick look back at my Top 5 “Whitetail Wisdom” blogs from this year:

1: MICHIGAN HUNTER BEING FED CWD LIES

2. SHOULD YOU PEE IN BUCK SCRAPES?

3. WHAT WAS THE HEAVIEST WHITETAIL OF ALL TIME?

4. INJURY CAUSES CONTRALATERAL EFFECT IN DEER

5. WHAT’S THE BEST MECHANICAL BROADHEAD FOR BOWHUNTING?

5. (tie) Deer Stomping Foot: What Does It Mean?

My blogs go live weekly on Fridays (most weeks), but if you want to make sure you see them all, follow me on social media — I share the link there first. It’s pretty easy to find me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; my handle on all three are the same: DanSchmidtDeer

Have a great Christmas week and Happy New Year, everyone! Here is to a happy and healthy 2019 for all of my “deer” friends.
