New Crossbow: Wicked Ridge RDX 400

As the popularity and demand for reverse-draw crossbows has ramped up over the last several years, TenPoint has been at the forefront in pioneering some of the industry’s finest offerings. Never before, though, has this technology graced their Wicked Ride lineup of crossbows. That is, until now.

Meet the first Wicked Ridge flagship model – the American-made RDX 400. New for 2019, it features a center-balanced reverse-draw bow assembly and our Reaper Cam System™ that together deliver consistent down-range accuracy and lighting speeds up to 400 FPS. The only thing more impressive than its reading on the chronograph is its price tag at under $800.

Blazing speed. Reverse draw technology. Affordable price tag. Meet the Wicked Ridge RDX 400.

Its reverse draw-design provides many advantages to the shooter. By shifting the riser from the front of the crossbow to its center, the design provides superior balance and eliminates that “nose heavy” feel of traditional crossbows.  Without the bow assembly weighing down the front, it allows the shooter to hold the crossbow steady on the target, with less fatigue, resulting in more accurate off-hand shooting and greater down-range accuracy. In addition, drawing the string through the riser elongates the power stroke and generates more speed with less draw weight – resulting in a smoother shot with less vibration.

The RDX 400’s ultra-narrow bow assembly measures a remarkable 9-inches wide. Its machined, lightweight aluminum riser is fitted with the company’s Over-the-Top limb pocket that both separates and isolates the limbs from direct contact with the riser to reduce sound and vibration. The pockets hold the bow’s 12-inch limbs that are powered by the Reaper Cam System™.

The RDX 400 is sleek and compact, making it perfect for the tree stand or ground blind.

In addition to its reverse draw bow assembly and rock-solid foundation, the RDX 400 is equipped with a host of TenPoint features you’ve come to expect from the industry leader. The RDX 400’s 19.5-inch synthetic barrel is fitted with a 4-inch bullpup version of its 3½-lb. auto engaging trigger that delivers a crisp, consistent trigger break shot-after-shot. Its weaver-style dovetail is fitted with a nylon-filament arrow retention brush that improves arrow grip and alignment and reduces noise and vibration. And, like all Wicked Ridge models, the trigger assembly is also equipped with a trigger safety and DFI™ (Dry-Fire-Inhibitor) that prevents the crossbow from firing if an arrow is not loaded in the flight deck. A string stop system is also included and fits into the end of the barrel to further reduce noise and vibration.

The RDX 400 is sold as a Ready-to-Hunt package that includes a cocking device, TenPoint Multi-Line Scope, three arrows, string stop system, and a quiver. As for cocking, the RDX 400 can be purchased with your choice of either an ACUdraw crank-stylye cocking device that reduces the draw weight to 5-pounds of force or the Rope Sled cocking device that reduces the draw weight by 50 percent.

While the RDX 400 boasts an incredible speed-to-value ratio, perhaps it’s best attribute is being locally manufactured in Mogadore, Ohio and backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty and industry-leading customer service and support.
